Do you need to induct everyone into your business, even if they are only working on a project?
Yes, absolutely! Although it needn’t be some sort of day long boring event.
You need to make them aware of any hazards that may be present, your safety rules and emergency arrangements. Although this is not an explicit legal requirement it is standard industry practice and it is something that the authorities will expect you to do.
But remember keep it simple; if you only have a few hazards, minimal safety rules (because that’s all that’s needed) and standard evacuation information then that is all you need to discuss. There is absolutely no need to make it longer than necessary or more professional or more important, just ensure you do it in a format and style that suit your audience using language that they understand and can buy into.
