FOOD HYGIENE POLICY AND PROCEDURES
The Food Safety Act. 1990 talks about effectively controlling areas of contaminations, personal hygiene, employees, etc. The standard format for successful achievement for the Act's targets is to formulate a Food Safety Policy.
A Food Safety policy is nothing more than the businesses guidebook on food safety. It consists of the following parts:
- Statement of Intent - 'The businesses view of Food Safety'
- Roles and Responsibilities - 'Who is responsible for what'
- Procedures - 'How each area should work to ensure compliance'
An Innovative Safety Solutions specialist will visit your business and assess what is required.
A full food safety policy will than be produced that will fit your businesses needs. Once completed the policy document will be fully explained to management to ensure understanding.
